| For years I have found my comfort in words, in poetry, in the privacy of my home. My recent introduction to the world of Spoken Word Artists, Poets on the Open Mic, has been a life altering experience. I have found a new family with the poets and new purpose in my life. |
My family and my island home give me roots…
My father walked the path where the road now stands, his only shoes hung around his neck to protect them from the rocky path and encountered a donkey jumbie sitting down…
…And so the tradition of story-telling, the oral history of home and family was learned at my Daddy’s knee.

My Poetry gives me wings….
Poets have no secrets, or at least, not for long. Love and loss, beauty and pain, pride and shame, morning coffee and nighttime trysts demand release from the tip of our pens.
…And in that release, my soul finds solace, freedom, wings.
